Fresh Streams Theology School, 2026

  • Rising Brook Community Church Burton Square Stafford, England, ST17 9LT United Kingdom (map)

Fresh Streams, has a long history going back to its inception, of engaging with the ‘hot potato’ theological issues of the day in the spirit of seeking after truth. As ‘thinking charismatics’ we have held a biennial theology school - this will be our sixth, and our third in Stafford.

In recent years, covered by a range of eloquent theologians from both within and beyond the baptist world, we’ve looked at a number of issues including ‘Women and leadership’, ‘responding to militant atheism’, ‘science and creation’, ‘sexuality’, ‘ecclesiology’, and this next time, ‘eschatology’.

The subject has often been chosen by the delegates at the previous years January conference. One of the marks of the Fresh Streams theology school is that there is freedom to disagree - within the context of generous orthodoxy.

A second aspect, given that most delegates are Ministers, is to give space for all the wisdom ‘in the room’ to emerge, which means there’s loads of space for QnA, small group discussion, and panel feedback. So, to 2026 and the magnificent subject of eschatology. Eschatology defined is:

  • A branch of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind.

  • A subject that deals with the essential elements of what Christian hope is all about.

What is the Christian hope for the end of time? Will we get a new planet or not? Where and what is heaven going to be like? What about the book of Revelation? How does our view of the future effect our take on evangelism, the environment and Israel? The word to describe all this is Eschatology, and it is the theme for our sixth theology school next June in Stafford. Speakers will include Bishop of Lancaster, Dr. Jill Duff, Rev Dr Simon Woodman, Minister of Bloomsbury Baptist and Rev Dr Steve Finnamore, formerly principle of Bristol Baptist College and recently our BU President. We’ll also have some special guests joining us on screen. It’s set to be a stimulating and engaging time as we unpack eschatology.

We are returning to Rising Brook Community Church on 10-11th June 2026. The costs for the Theology School is £90 (£80 Early Bird) - £50 Young Adult, which includes lunch on the first day, with other great hospitality from Rising Brook. Be sure to join us for what promises to be another fantastic theology school. Book on below, or get i in touch for more details: office@freshstreams.net
