Andy and Sue Glover

Andy has been married to Sue since 1988, and they have lived in Hoole, Chester, and has been at Hoole Baptist Church for the past 37 years — all of their married life! Through this time, Andy’s role has changed considerably: he was Youth Pastor, then became the Pastor, in 1994, and now is known as the Team Leader. He is an accredited Baptist Union Minister, and in 2024, Andy was installed as Canon Ecumenical at Chester Cathedral.

He is committed to developing a “word & spirit ministry with a strong emphasis on creating Discipleship, Prophetic and Kingdom Cultures with the local church, something that, through HBC Chester, he can model to other churches.

Andy helped set up and now helps lead a relational network of churches of all denominations and streams from Cheshire West and Chester called Link Up. Link Up has been described as a unity movement.

Since 2011, Andy has been Team Leader for Fresh Streams.

When not working, Andy enjoys reading, going to the cinema, and eating out. He also suffers from an incurable condition known as “Stoke-Cityitis”, which renders him unwell for most of the football season.

How could he help you?
Andy has over 30 years of church leadership experience working and would love to talk with/encourage/mentor others in leadership, especially if you are looking to transition your church towards a more Discipleship and Missional emphasis. He and Sue work together in ministry. Sue is an Associate Leader at HBC Chester, so if you have a vision for a husband/wife team ministry, they can help this become a reality
