Main Duties:
• To contribute to the strategic development of the church
• To share in the preaching and teaching ministry of the church
• To disciple, mentor and develop other leaders within the church
• To oversee the Pastorate Leaders
• To be actively engaged in the pastoral ministry of the church
• To oversee and develop resourcing to other churches in the region, such as
“Immerse – Investing in Leadership”
• To develop and oversee a “small group” structure commensurate with the vision
and values of the church
• To develop and oversee “short courses” within the church
• To develop a strategy and structure for work with older adults/seniors
• To oversee both the Men’s and Women’s Ministry within the church

Person Specification:
• Is a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, with a disciplined spiritual life
• Is fully committed to the Purpose and Values Fleet Baptist Church, agrees with our
Statement of Faith and is/wants to become a member of Fleet Baptist Church
• Can make disciples of Jesus and has a heart for those who are far from God
• Has clear leadership abilities, can build team and work effectively with a wide range
of people
• Is able to challenge and encourage whilst maintaining relationship
• Is comfortable in an up-front role as required
• Has strong IT competencies
• Can manage their own time and workload, receive instruction and take initiative
• Is able to train, equip and inspire
• Has appropriate qualifications and skills for the role, and are committed to
professional and personal development
• Is able to exercise discretion and confidentiality
• Is accountable, open and has a sense of humour
• Has good theological understanding and is continually learning in that context
• Has general listening skills and is effective one to one as required

Key Terms and Conditions (indicative of final confirmed contract)
• Working 5 days per week which will include Sundays, weekend and evening work
• Flexible working arrangements where appropriate
• Full time position, 40 hours per week
• Salary range £22,500 – £26,000 depending on experience
• Baptist Union pension scheme
• 25 days paid holiday plus UK Bank Holidays/Public Holidays
• Line managed by the Senior Pastor, within a performance management framework
• Own arrangements to be made for housing
