Children’s – perhaps extending to families Minister

Full time or Part time considered

Are you passionate to introduce children and their families to Jesus?

Could you then help them grow and develop in their faith?

We at Billericay Baptist Church are thankful to have a thriving work among children and young people and recognise this as a ministry in its own right.

We are seeking passionate leaders who love children and their families, to be part of this ministry able to steer the church through its next season of growth and development in their area of gifting and calling, working closely with the other ministry streams whose focus is different but interconnected in helping us grow into what God is seeking for us. Please see our church profile attached.

This role involves both working with children already associated with the church and those with currently no church contact and their families.  We have good links to the community but would be looking to you to develop these further and seek new opportunities.

We are open to the possibility this role could be one of a family worker.

Key characteristics

We want to be a church populated with equippers; encouragers; empowerers; teachers and communicators and are looking for those who have these skills to encourage and build these traits in others, regardless of age.

We are a bible based church who love Jesus and we are keen to connect the Bible to modern life issues whilst being engaging and open to all. We are looking to employ those who hold the same values.

The church is in the position to build a new team, as explained further in our church profile attached.

Children/Youth (and their families) is one of three ministry streams we foresee. This role could be as part of the ministry stream or with responsibility of leading this ministry stream. Additionally, it is our expectation is that one stream lead, to be discerned, will have an additional responsibility to act as a team leader.  This role will carry the title of Lead Minister but would not extend to active management of the other ministries which would remain the responsibility of those appointed to lead them.

Pay: Up to £30,000 plus housing allowance or manse – depending upon experience, training and responsibilities.

To Apply: please send your cv/profile together with a statement letting us know what attracted you to this role or the church profile in general, to:
